Essential Packing Guide
What to Bring on Safari
Preparing for a Tanzanian safari requires careful packing. Because you will be moving between camps and taking light aircraft, it is important to pack smart and light. Here are the five key categories you need to cover.

Clothing & Footwear
Pack lightweight, neutral-colored clothing (khaki, olive, brown) to blend in. Include layers for chilly mornings, a wide-brimmed hat, and comfortable, worn-in walking shoes or boots.

Electronics & Optics
A pair of good binoculars (8x42 or 10x42) is crucial. Bring a camera with a zoom lens, extra memory cards, spare batteries, and a universal power adapter.

Documents & Currencies
Ensure your passport is valid for at least 6 months. Bring your printed eVisa, Yellow Fever certificate, travel insurance details, and small-denomination US Dollars for tipping.

Health & Protection
Pack high-SPF sunscreen, strong insect repellent containing DEET, your prescribed anti-malarial medication, and a basic personal first-aid kit.

Bags & Extras
Use soft-sided duffel bags rather than hard suitcases, as space in safari vehicles and light aircraft is strictly limited. Don’t forget a small daypack for game drives.
